This fundraiser is for an hourly co-worker who is also a father of two. He had been working and raising his kids when he started feeling sick and having stomach pain. After seeing a doctor, he underwent surgery to have his spleen removed. He was later released back to full-duty work, but instead of getting back to normal, his health
problems grew worse.

Since the operation, he has been dealing with severe pain in his legs, lower back, side, and stomach. The pain has made it hard for him to stand, and he can now barely walk without needing to sit down often. He has also lost 50 pounds since the surgery. Because of these ongoing health issues, he has not been able to work consistently. When he is able, he works part time on weekends doing security at the laydown yard.

His situation has become so difficult that he has at times been living in his car or staying in a hotel in St. Mary’s, Georgia. He also made the decision to take his two children to stay with their mother so they could keep going to school and have some stability while he tries to get through this. Sleeping in a car only adds to his pain and makes it even harder for him to rest and recover.

The goal of this fundraiser is to help him have a safe place to stay while he focuses on getting better, instead of worrying each night about where he will sleep. Any donation, no matter the amount, would help give this father some stability and relief during an incredibly hard time. If you are not able to give, sharing this fundraiser would also mean a lot.
